Ilmu perilaku merupakan fondasi penting dalam memahami, menjelaskan, dan memprediksi tindakan manusia dalam berbagai konteks kehidupan, khususnya dalam bidang kesehatan, pendidikan, komunikasi, dan pembangunan sosial. Perubahan perilaku tidak pernah berdiri sendiri, melainkan merupakan hasil interaksi kompleks antara faktor kognitif, afektif, sosial, budaya, dan struktural. Oleh karena itu, penguasaan terhadap berbagai model dan teori perilaku menjadi kebutuhan mendasar bagi akademisi, peneliti, maupun praktisi.
Buku referensi ini disusun sebagai upaya untuk menghadirkan pemahaman yang komprehensif, sistematis, dan terintegrasi mengenai berbagai model dan teori perilaku yang telah berkembang dan digunakan secara luas dalam kajian ilmiah. Buku ini tidak hanya memuat teori klasik, tetapi juga mengaitkannya dengan konteks kontemporer, termasuk dinamika sosial, komunitas, serta perkembangan komunikasi dan teknologi. Dibahas dalam 4 bab, buku ini akan membahas tuntas mulai dari model perilaku kesehatan individual, seperti Health Belief Model, Protection Motivation Theory, Theory of Reasoned Action, Theory of Planned Behavior, hingga kajian tentang model komunikasi dan teknologi, seperti Elaboration Likelihood Model, Technology Acceptance Model, S-M-C-R, Stimulus–Organism–Response, serta Teori Interaksi Simbolik. Pembahasan ini relevan dengan era digital, di mana pesan, media, dan simbol memainkan peran sentral dalam membentuk sikap dan perilaku manusia.
Buku ini dirancang sebagai referensi akademik yang dapat digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, penelitian, maupun pengembangan program intervensi berbasis perilaku. Setiap bab dilengkapi dengan ringkasan konseptual untuk memudahkan pembaca memahami benang merah antar teori dan model yang dibahas.
