Buku ini adalah panduan lengkap yang membekali Anda untuk menjadi seorang MC (Master of Ceremony) serba bisa, mulai dari panggung kecil di balai RW hingga acara kenegaraan di istana. Ditulis oleh seorang praktisi dengan pengalaman lebih dari dua dekade di dunia MC, buku ini menyajikan pembelajaran yang bukan sekadar teknis, tetapi juga menyentuh aspek sosial, psikologis, dan kultural yang dihadapi MC di berbagai level acara.

Penulis mengajak Anda menyusuri jalur karier MC dari akar rumput: dari acara syukuran kampung, pengajian ibu-ibu, rapat RT, hingga seremoni pemerintahan dan forum nasional. Setiap bagian buku disusun dengan pendekatan bertahap, dimulai dari membongkar mitos tentang bakat MC, membangun mental percaya diri, hingga menguasai teknik suara, postur, artikulasi, dan improvisasi. Anda juga akan diajak memahami struktur acara, membaca rundown, serta mengelola forum dengan bijak.

Buku ini menjadikan Anda bukan hanya pengisi acara, tetapi fasilitator komunikasi publik. Anda akan memahami bagaimana MC bisa menghubungkan pesan antar pihak, menyederhanakan bahasa teknis, menjaga dinamika emosi forum, dan memastikan semua pihak merasa dihormati. Pendekatan teoritis seperti Model Komunikasi Lasswell dan Teori Kompetensi Komunikasi dari Spitzberg dan Cupach dipaparkan dengan bahasa yang renyah dan mudah dimengerti. Setiap teori langsung dikaitkan dengan contoh konkret, mulai dari musyawarah warga tentang perbaikan jalan, hingga protokoler upacara kenegaraan di Istana.

Gaya bahasa dalam buku ini sangat bersahabat. Anda tidak akan menemukan jargon akademik yang rumit. Sebaliknya, Anda akan membaca kisah-kisah nyata dan contoh lapangan yang relevan, seperti MC hajatan yang belajar artikulasi dari latihan harian, atau MC nasional yang menjaga ketahanan suara dengan teknik pernapasan profesional.

Biografi Penulis

Sammy Joe, CPS., CPS-t., PINTAR BICARA INDONESIA

Sammy Joe, CPS., CPS-t. (Samuel Iwan Soesantho, S.Sos.), adalah seorang Master of Ceremony (MC) profesional, Public Speaking Practitioner Expert, TV Broadcasting Enthusiast dan Coach Founder dari PINTAR BICARA INDONESIA Public Speaking School.

Penulis mengawali karir sebagai Broadcaster Television di Sindo TV (MNC Group Jatim), berlanjut ke SBO TV (Jawa Pos Group), BBS TV, dan terakhir di TV9 Surabaya dari rentang waktu tahun 2012 sampai dengan 2020.

Karir penulis sebagai MC dimulai sejak menyelesaikan studi di Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, Universitas Udayana Bali tahun 2003. Diawali dari MC acara Kids sampai dengan acara formal setingkat pejabat pemerintahan dan publik, Mulai dari program acara setingkat receh sampai tingkat formal, dari setingkat Rukun Warga (RW) sampai istana telah dijalaninya secara profesional dari tahun 2005 sampai saat ini.

Passionnya sangat besar di bidang Public Speaking & MC sehingga beberapa kampus di Surabaya: UNAIR, ITS, ITATS, UBAYA, PGRI Adibuana selalu mengundangnya sebagai narasumber untuk mengisi materi tentang Public Speaking.

Selain Itu, beberapa instansi pemerintah di Surabaya, seperti: Radio RRI Surabaya, Polrestabes Surabaya, dan beberapa sekolah, seperti: SMPN 1, SMPN 25, dan SMPN 29 diantaranya selalu menghadirkannya sebagai narasumber di bidang Public Speaking.

Pada tahun 2018 sampai saat ini, Penulis merintis Lembaga Pendidikan Keterampilan, yaitu PINTAR BICARA INDONESIA Public Speaking School. Materi yang diajarkan diantaranya adalah: Public Speaking, MC, TV Broadcaster, Radio Broadcaster, Presentasi, Debate, Story Telling, Pidato, dan sebagainya yang berkaitan dengan keterampilan untuk tampil percaya diri di hadapan audiences dengan target siswa didik dari berbagai kalangan usia.

Dr. Siska Armawati Sufa, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., merupakan seorang Lecturer dengan kepakaran di bidang Public Speaking, Corporate Communication, Strategic Communication, dan Big Data Analysis yang bekerja pada Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi, Universitas Dr. Soetomo Surabaya, dan salah satu penerima Beasiswa Pendidikan Pascasarjana Dalam Negeri (BPPDN) pada Program Doktor Ilmu Komunikasi, Universitas Padjadjaran Bandung sejak September 2019 hingga Agustus 2025. Penulis telah menyelesaikan disertasinya berjudul ANALYSIS OF ONLINE PROSTITUTION COMMUNICATION NETWORKS ON SOCIAL MEDIA VIA THE HASHTAG #OPENBO IN THE X APPLICATION, mengawali karirnya sebagai Public Relations Officer di Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Indonesia (STIESIA) Surabaya sejak Februari 2010 hingga Desember 2013, setelah itu Penulis mulai menekuni passion-nya sebagai instruktur dan pengajar di bidang: Public Relations, Public Speaking, Komunikasi Bisnis, dan Entrepreneurship di berbagai instansi pemerintah maupun swasta, salah satunya adalah PROBEST Broadcasting School Surabaya. Penulis mengawali karirnya sebagai dosen di Universitas Dr. Soetomo Surabaya sejak Nopember 2014 hingga saat ini, dan sempat menjabat sebagai Kepala Pusat Karir & Tracer Study mulai tahun 2016 hingga 2019.

Penulis juga aktif sebagai narasumber dalam program Digital Talent Scholarship dan Literasi Digital yang diselenggarakan oleh Kementerian Kominfo RI (sekarang: Komdigi), serta Pelatihan Prakerja yang diselenggarakan oleh Kemnaker RI. Penulis adalah asesor kompetensi pada skema Public Relations, dan Digital Marketing pada Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi (LSP) Universitas Dr. Soetomo Surabaya, dan skema Financing pada Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi Pembiayaan Indonesia (LSPPI). Penulis juga aktif melakukan penelitian dengan lingkup bidang keilmuan Social Network Analysis, Public Relations, dan Digital Marketing, dan melaksanakan pengabdian masyarakat sesuai bidang keilmuan dengan pendanaan mandiri ataupun pendanaan hibah dari instansi pemerintah maupun swasta.
