Synopsis

Buku ini hadir sebagai panduan komprehensif bagi mahasiswa, peneliti, dan praktisi yang ingin memahami serta menguasai metode penelitian kuantitatif dalam konteks ilmu komunikasi. Di tengah kompleksitas fenomena komunikasi yang terus berkembang, pendekatan kuantitatif menawarkan alat analitis yang sistematis dan terukur untuk menjawab berbagai pertanyaan riset secara objektif dan valid.

Disusun dalam empat bab utama, buku ini dimulai dengan Bab 1: Memahami Penelitian Kuantitatif dalam Studi Komunikasi, yang membahas landasan filosofis, karakteristik, serta relevansi pendekatan kuantitatif dalam menjelaskan fenomena komunikasi modern. Bab ini juga menguraikan posisi penelitian kuantitatif dalam tradisi ilmiah dan aplikasinya dalam berbagai studi komunikasi. Bab 2: Desain Penelitian Kuantitatif Komunikasi membekali pembaca dengan keterampilan merancang penelitian yang solid, mulai dari merumuskan masalah, menyusun hipotesis, memilih variabel, menentukan populasi dan sampel, hingga teknik pengumpulan data seperti survei dan eksperimen.

Dalam Bab 3: Analisis dan Evaluasi Data, pembaca diajak memahami berbagai teknik analisis statistik, seperti uji deskriptif, inferensial, korelasi, regresi, hingga uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Penjelasan disampaikan dengan jelas dan aplikatif, dilengkapi contoh-contoh kasus dalam konteks komunikasi. Terakhir, Bab 4: Menyajikan dan Mempublikasikan Penelitian Komunikasi menawarkan panduan praktis dalam menyusun laporan penelitian yang informatif dan profesional, serta strategi untuk mempublikasikannya di jurnal ilmiah nasional maupun internasional.

Melalui pendekatan yang sistematis dan kontekstual, buku ini tidak hanya menyajikan teori, tetapi juga mendorong penerapan nyata dalam riset komunikasi. Diharapkan, buku ini menjadi sumber belajar yang dapat memperkaya pemahaman metodologis sekaligus meningkatkan kualitas penelitian kuantitatif di bidang komunikasi.

Author Biography

Cosmas Gatot Haryono, UNIVERSITAS CIPUTRA SURABAYA

Cosmas Gatot Haryono, dilahirkan di Klaten pada tahun 1977. Sejak 2022 bekerja sebagai Dosen Universitas Ciputra Surabaya. Memperoleh gelar Sarjana Ilmu Komunikasi (S1) di Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta tahun 2002. Gelar Magister Managemen Komunikasi diperoleh di Universitas Indonesia tahun 2010. Sedangkan gelar Doktor Ilmu Komunikasi diperoleh dari Universitas Indonesia pada awal tahun 2019. Sebelum menjadi pengajar, penulis pernah berkarya sebagai jurnalis di TV7 (2002-2007) dan SCTV (2007-2013).
