Synopsis

Buku ini lahir dari kesadaran akan pentingnya tumbuhan sagu sebagai sumber daya hayati strategis, tidak hanya dalam konteks ketahanan pangan, tetapi juga dalam menjaga keseimbangan ekologi, keberlanjutan lingkungan, dan kearifan lokal masyarakat di wilayah tropis, khususnya di wilayah Indonesia Timur. Tumbuhan sagu merupakan salah satu spesies palm tropis yang memiliki peran ekologis penting. Keberadaannya berkaitan erat dengan sistem hidrologi lahan basah, konservasi sumberdaya lahan, penyimpanan karbon, serta sebagai habitat berbagai organisme flora dan fauna. Namun demikian, kajian komprehensif mengenai ekologi tumbuhan sagu masih relatif terbatas dalam berbagai publikasi ilmiah. Kondisi ini mendorong Penulis untuk menyusun buku yang dapat menyajikan pemahaman ekologis sagu secara utuh, sistematis, dan berbasis ilmiah.

Buku ini membahas berbagai aspek penting, meliputi karakteristik biologis dan ekologis tumbuhan sagu, distribusi dan habitat alaminya, adaptasi terhadap lingkungan lahan basah dan marjinal, dinamika populasi, asosiasi vegetasi, interaksi sagu dengan komponen biotik dan abiotik ekosistem, serta kendala ekologis dalam pengembangan sagu. Penulis menyadari bahwa pemahaman ekologi tumbuhan sagu tidak hanya penting bagi kalangan akademisi dan peneliti, tetapi juga bagi praktisi kehutanan dan pertanian, pengambil kebijakan, serta masyarakat luas yang hidup berdampingan dengan ekosistem sagu.

Author Biographies

Samin Botanri, IPB University

Dr. Ir. Samin Botanri, M.P. lahir di Kalauly Negeri Kaitetu Kecamatan Leihitu Kabupaten Maluku Tengah Provinsi Maluku pada tanggal 07 September 1962. Dunia Pendidikan diawali pada tahun 1970 dengan memasuki Sekolah Dasar Negeri Kalauly dan lulus pada tahun 1976. Pada tahun 1979 lulus SMP Negeri Hila-Kaitetu. Pada tahun 1982 tamat SMA Negeri 3 Ambon, lulus Sarjana Pertanian (Ir) tahun 1988 pada Program Studi Agronomi Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Pattimura Ambon. Pada tahun 1999 menyelesaikan studi Magister (S2) di Program Studi Pengelolaan Tanah dan Air pada Program Pasca Sarjana Universitas Brawijaya Malang. Studi Doktoral (S3) diselesaikan di Sekolah Pasca Sarjana Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) dan memperoleh gelar Doktor (Dr) tahun 2011 dalam bidang Ilmu Ekologi Tumbuhan. Pada tahun 1990 diangkat menjadi dosen PNS dalam lingkup Kopertis Wilayah IX Ujung Pandang (Makassar) dipekerjakan pada Universitas Darussalam (Unidar) Ambon. Pada tahun 1994 dipindahkan ke Kopertis Wilayah XII Maluku dan Maluku Utara ditempatkan pada Perguruan Tinggi yang sama. Pada tahun 1994-1997 menjabat sebagai Ketua Jurusan Budidaya Tanaman, antara tahun 2002-2004 menjabat sebagai Kepala Pusat Penelitian. Pada tahun 2004-2006 dan 2014-2017 menjabat sebagai Kepala Pusat Penelitian dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (P3M) Unidar Ambon. Pada tahun 2017-2021 bertugas sebagai Dekan Fakultas Pertanian dan Kehutanan. Pernah bekerja sebagai Staf Ahli Komisi B DPRD Provinsi Maluku dalam bidang Pengelolaan Sumberdaya Alam antara tahun 2011-2020. Kemudian sejak bulan Januari 2025-sekarang kembali bekerja sebagai staf ahli Komisi II DPRD Provinsi Maluku. Menulis karya ilmiah nasional dan internasional, antara lain : 1). Dr. Marwanyani Kamsurya, S.P., M.P. Lahir di Talaga Negeri Piru Kabupaten Seram Bagian Barat Provinsi Maluku pada tanggal 29 September 1966. Lulus SD Negeri Talaga tahun 1980 dan menyelesaikan studi pada SMP Negeri Piru tahun 1983. Pada tahun 1986 tamat SMA Negeri 3 Ambon, lulus Sarjana Pertanian (SP) tahun 1995 pada Program Studi Agronomi Fak. Pertanian Univ. Pattimura Ambon. Pada tahun 2002 menyelesaikan studi Magister (S2) di Program Studi Ilmu Tanaman Program Pasca Sarjana Univ. Brawijaya Malang. Studi S3 (Doktoral) diselesaikan di Sekolah Pasca Sarjana Univ. Hasanuddin Makassar tahun 2023, dalam bidang Ilmu Pertanian. Pada tahun 2003 diangkat menjadi dosen Yayasan Darussalam Maluku pada Universitas Darussalam (Unidar) Ambon, dan pada tahun 2005 lulus sebagai dosen PNS dalam lingkup LLDIKTI Wilayah XII Maluku dan Maluku Utara dipekerjakan pada Univ. Darussalam Ambon. Pada tahun 2003-2005 menjabat sebagai Wakil Dekan pada Fak. Keguruan & Ilmu Pendidikan Unidar Ambon. Pada tahun 2007–2012 menjabat sebagai ketua Program Studi Budidaya Pertanian pada Fak. Pertanian & Kehutanan Unidar Ambon. Pada tahun 2023-sekarang menjabat sebagai Wakil Dekan Fak.
